Eve Culley’s Review of Legacy of the Blade – 5 – Stars
Legacy of the Blade (Legacy Of The Blade #0.5) by Elizabeth Rose
I had read books one and two in the Legacy of the Blade series before I found this prequel. It explained a lot of my questions about the characters in the books I had previously read. However, I did enjoy the first two books greatly, but I wish I had read this book first. The prequel explains the sadness and longing that Corbett Blake, the main character in book one, has and why the man became the hardened person he is as an adult. This book also gives an empathy for the child inside the man that is missing in the book one. You get glimpses of the characters for books two through four as well. I would recommend this short story before reading the four-book Legacy of the Blade series. The full-length novels in the series are Lord of the Blade, Lady Renegade, Lord of Illusion, Lady of the Mist. (Excerpts included at the end of the prequel).
About the book
Corbett Blake is a child who wants to be a knight and follow in his father’s footsteps, but because he is gifted, he is sent to be a sorcerer’s apprentice instead.
This short story of approximately 6,500 words is the prequel of the four-book Legacy of the Blade series.
