Miles to go before I sleep…

Stopping By Woods On A Snowy Evening – Poem by Robert Frost

The woods are lovely, dark and deep,
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep.

This is the last stanza from one of my favorite poems.  I think I understand it well.  I do my best work at night after the house is quite. The dogs, cats and baby chickens in the box in the living room are all nested down.  Hubby has long since closed his eyes and is in his dreamland deep asleep.  In this quiet realm, I am in my own little world listening to my animal friends tell me about their day. I enjoy being their spokesperson. Plus it has the added benefit that if I tell their stories, they’ll leave me alone.  (grin)

My new book is in line for edits.  It is a happy place for me.  I often have fears that no one will like the books I write and then I will have to tell all the animals in my life that they just didn’t cut it this time.  That is a scary thought for me, that I would have to say that to them.  So glad that is not the case this time. Instead, I have told them that the new book will be available in about 9 months to a 1 year from now.  That made them very happy with me, I am so glad.  There is nothing scarier than a mad goose who is upset with you.
